Slidell-area Couple Arrested on Narcotics Charges

A Slidell-area couple has been arrested on narcotics charges following a joint investigation between the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.

On Wednesday (April 14, 2021) detectives with the STPSO Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Marina Lane in Slidell after illegal drug use and the presence of firearms was reported in the home, which is the residence of Christy Moree (age 31) and Connor Lee Upchurch (age 32).

During their search of the home, detectives discovered and seized approximately 2.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 36.7 grams of marijuana, 12 grams of suspected heroin, 39 alprazolam tablets, 15 suboxone tablets, 2 vials of Trenbalone Enanthate, 1 vial of BIO-TS400 (400mg Testosterone), 1 AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, 1 semi-automatic handgun and assorted drug paraphernalia associated with the use, packaging and distribution of illegal drugs.

Following their search, detectives placed Moree under arrest and booked her into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the charges of Possession of Schedule I CDS (heroin), Possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), Illegal Carry of Weapons; Crime or CDS, Possession of Marijuana, Prohibited acts; Drug Paraphernalia, and Illegal use of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons under Seventeen Years of Age. Bond has been set at $90,000.00.

Moree and Upchurch’s two young children were present at the home during the investigation and were turned over to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.

Upchurch, who was found to be a convicted felon prohibited from legally possessing firearms, was not present at the home during the investigation.  Warrants for his arrest were obtained for the following charges: Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine), Possession of Schedule III CDS (Suboxone), Possession of Schedule III CDS (Steroids/Trenbolone), Possession of Schedule III CDS (Testosterone), Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule IV CDS (Alprazolam), Illegal Carry of Weapons; Crime or CDS, Possession of Firearm by Person Convicted of Certain Felonies, Prohibited acts; Drug Paraphernalia, and Illegal use of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons under Seventeen Years of Age.

Deputies located Upchurch Thursday (April 15, 2021).  He attempted to flee in his vehicle then orally ingested narcotics as deputies attempted to take him into custody.   He was transported to a local area hospital and upon his release, will be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the above listed charges in addition to the following charges: Possession of Schedule I CDS (Heroin), Obtruction, and Flight from an Officer.
