The Pike County Sheriff's Office reported today that, after an extensive Human Trafficking investigation, 67-year-old Robert Earl Varnado of Osyka, was charged with 7 counts of Sexual Battery. Varnado was arrested as the result a traffic stop in May 2020. During the traffic stop Robert Earl Varnado, a previously convicted felon, was in possession of a firearm. He was subsequently indicted on 7 counts of Sexual Battery; including Sexual Battery with a child less that 14 years of age and Sexual Battery with a child at least 14 but less than 16.
48-year-old Leroy Taylor of Magnolia was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery of a child under the age of 14 and was subsequently indicted on that charge.
25-year-old Edward Taylor of Mount Hermon, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery of a child under the age of 14 but less than 16 and was subsequently indicted on that charge.
