Mathew Abram

July 19, 1927 - April 16, 2021

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7

Mathew Abram transitioned to his eternal home on Friday, April 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born to the late Arthur and Cora Abram on July 19, 1927 in Bogalusa, LA. Mathew was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Mathew (Julie) Abram, Jr., M. D. of Baton Rouge, LA, Arthur Glynn (Sharon) Abram of Bogalusa, LA; two daughter, Robin (Anthony) Stephens of Shreveport, LA, Tonita Spikes of Bogalusa, LA; grandchildren, Mathew Abram III, MPH, PHD of Stockholm, Sweden, Leland Abram, M.D. of Albuquerque, New Mexico, John “J.C.” Abram, BS of Washington, DC, Shemay Roberts, Derrick Abram, Demarcus Spikes, Vick Brister of Bogalusa, LA, Asia Reiford of Hammond, LA, Justin Washington of Atlanta, GA, Cassandra Tate and Jerod Spikes of Baton Rouge, LA and Shawanda Brister of Ft. Worth, TX; 20 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Abram; his parents, Arthur and Cora Abram; one daughter, Theresa Brister; one sister, Bobbie Abram.

A drive through viewing on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 2:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 11:00AM with Rev. Douglas Hart – Pastor Officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA are in charge of arrangements.
