James Clark Bateman
June 25, 1942 - March 5, 2021
James Clark Bateman, age 78 and a resident of the Richardson Community, died Friday evening March 5, 2021 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. He was the owner/operator of Bateman Diesel in Franklinton for 45 years. He loved working and going in to the shop every day. James enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting and earlier in life always kept a large pack of beagles, which he loved working with. He collected Ford tractors and liked to work on his property. James liked to go to Main Street Café each day for lunch to visit and eat with his friends.
Survived by: Wife of 50 years: Faye Hinson Bateman of the Richardson Community; Sons and Daughters in law: Jimmy and Colleen Bateman, Jamie and Brenda Bateman, Jason and Val Bateman all of Franklinton; Daughters and Sons in law: Kim and Dale Barber of Franklinton, Janie Faye and Michael Blackwell, Jennifer Bateman and Robert Stafford all of Richardson; Grandchildren: Jeremy Bateman, Lauren Bateman, Brennan Barber, Kirsten Barber, Payton Hillhouse, Angelle Ward, Katelynn Mulina, Ansley Mulina; Great-grandson: Riley Hillhouse; Brother and Sister in law: Truett and Debbie Bateman of Houston, TX; 2 Sisters: Pansy McClendon of Mt. Hermon, Jeanne Singleton of Baton Rouge; Sister in law: Barbara Ansley; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Bateman and Audelle Alford Bateman, brother Mac Bateman, sister Euphamie Stoewer and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday March 9th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Bro. Jimmy Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Bateman Hill Cemetery.
