Harold Morgan Legendre

March 13, 1932 - February 27, 2021

Harold Morgan Legendre, Sr., a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021.  Harold was born on March 13, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Harold graduated from Holy Cross High school in 1950.  He obtained his Bachelor of science degree in accounting from Loyola University of the South and he graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a Juris Doctorate degree.  He retired from Kaiser Aluminum, where he worked as an accountant. Harold married his wife, Virginia Gail Sheridan of Bogalusa, in 1984.  Harold and Gail moved to Bogalusa after marrying and have lived here ever since.  Harold enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his retirement life here in Bogalusa.  Harold always liked to spend time with nephews, nieces, and his grandchildren. 

Harold is survived by his wife, Virginia Gail Legendre and his son, Harold “Harry” Morgan Legendre Jr. (Patricia), grandchildren, Rhett and Michele Legendre, and daughter Pam Legendre, grandson, Billy Darby.  Harold is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Ann Clark, sister-in-law, Beverly Sheridan, nephews Jamey (Tammy) Sheridan, Chad (Melissa) Sheridan, Andy (Shannon) Clark, nieces Julie Anne Sheridan and Stacie (Giulliano) El Bader.  Harold’s great nephews and nieces include Ashley and Brooke Sheridan, Gage and Gabby O’Keefe, Charlie and Willa Clark, and Noah El Bader.

Harold also looked forward to spending time with cousin, special friend, and caregiver, George Sheridan.  Harold and George enjoyed sharing a good meal and a good ballgame. He also enjoyed many hours with his close friends: Brandon Keating and Allen Wilson from the barbershop.

Harold is proceeded in death by his father, Harold Matthew Legendre, his mother, Genieve Inez Morgan Legendre, a sister, Fay Marie Legendre, a brother-in-law, King Sheridan, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Toby and Jane Sheridan.

Pallbearers will be Ray Thomas, Pete Stewart, Randy Stewart, Brian Stewart, and Justin Stewart.

Visitation will be at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 12:00 – 2:00  P.M. with the service beginning at 2:00 P.M.  Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery with Brother Mark Morelock officiating.
