Madelaine Jones

December 10, 1943 - March 24, 2021

Madelaine Jones, age 77 and a resident of the Thomas Community, died Wednesday March 24, 2021 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was an active member of New Beginning Baptist Church that for several years helped lead the church meals and food services. Madelaine worked as a sitter for home health groups in the area. She cared for others and enjoyed being able to serve those in need. Madelaine was a country girl that loved her farm animals and working alongside her family in their vegetable garden. Her family and grandchildren were the most important thing in the world to her and she cherished all their time spent together.

Survived by: 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Linda and Regan Penton of Carriere, MS, Sharon and George Hartzog of Franklinton, Lisa and David Graves of Thomas; Son and Daughter in law: Kenneth and Melissa Barber of Thomas; 11 Grandchildren: Keegan, Valorie, Tabitha, Josia, Brandy, Mikey, Aaron, Adam, Ashley, Michael, Dezyrae; 25 Great-grandchildren; Special Friends: Joann Gerald, Keith Hancock

She was preceded in death by her parents Jasper “Jack” Jones and Dorsie Jones, brother A.G. Jones and an infant great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be at New Beginning Baptist Church in Thomas on Friday March 26th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Friday with Rev. Keith Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
