Christine Verleen Bankston

October 6, 1952 - March 20, 2021

Christine Verleen Bankston, age 68 and a resident of Mount Hermon, Louisiana died Saturday evening March 20, 2021 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 6, 1952 and was a former longtime resident of Jackson, Mississippi, where she worked for many years at Trustmark Bank. Christine has spent the last 14 years living with family in Port Arthur and other areas of Texas before moving to Washington Parish. She loved to search for and find rare and antique coins and she had a huge collection. Christine enjoyed working hard in her yard and planting a tomato garden. She had a special place in her heart for her “fur babies” pet dogs and cats. She was a loving and giving person that was quick to help others any way she could.

Survived by: Brother and Sister in law: John T. and Janet Bankston of Mt. Hermon; 3 Nephews and Spouses: Thomas and Leeann Bankston of Pine, Patrick and Jennifer Schillings of Caldwell, TX, Jeremy Lang of Port Arthur, TX; 7 Great-nieces and great-nephews; Aunt: Cathy Bankston of South Carolina; Special Friends: Laquita Stein of Jackson, MS, Debbie and Archie McClendon of Magnolia, MS; Also numerous cousins and many friends

She was preceded in death by her parents Preston Talmage Bankston and Verleen Miller Bankston and an uncle Bob Bankston.

A memorial service will be planned in the near future.
