Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Chief James “Jimmy” Travis is pleased to report that around 8:15 p.m. on March 5, 2021, Shawntel Heck (age 38) was taken into custody by the Santa Rosa County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office.
Heck has been sought for abducting her two young boys from their father's home in Ponchatoula. The children were located in Florida on March 3, 2021.
Heck will be held without bond pending extradition to Tangipahoa Parish. Upon arrival at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail, she will be charged with simple kidnapping and unauthorized use of a movable.
