Curtis Kent Sims

Curtis Kent Sims died at 9:55AM on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. He was born March 26, 1955 in Brookhaven, MS. He was a life-long resident of Kentwood, LA. He was a truck driver and co-owner of a local trucking company, Simco Industries, Inc. from 1982 until closing to retire in 2016.
He is survived by one son Jonathan Kent Sims; three granddaughters Logan Moneyhun, Jasie Sims, and Lanna Sims; one sister Judy S. Jones; one sister-in-law Ann Smith; four nieces Ashley Bridges, Amber Bridges, Angel Newman (Matthew), and Sherry Sassone (Chris).
He is preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Marie Sims; son Jason Wayne Sims; grandson Michael “Boc” Sims; brother LaRue Smith; brother-in-law, Jimmy Jones; and nephew Greg Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.
McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, in charge of arrangements.
