Ashley Carl Rogers, Jr.
September 13, 1954 - February 6, 2021
Ashley Carl Rogers, Jr., age 66 and a resident of Folsom went to his Heavenly Home late Saturday night February 6, 2021. He was the former pastor of Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church in Pearl River and also served as pastor at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Springfield. Carl was currently a member of Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church near Franklinton for the last several years. He loved serving the Lord and cared for his church family. Carl loved playing the guitar, both at home as his favorite hobby as well as during church services. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Survived by: Wife: Karen Varnado Rogers of Folsom; Son and Daughter in law: Kevin and Stephanie Rogers of San Diego, CA; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Karla and Junaid Altaf, Karissa Rogers all of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Nimar Junaid Altaf, Kevin Lee “Beau” Rogers, II, Sultana Kori-Krystine Altaf, Asher Rogers, Ellyanna Rogers, and an expected grandchild; Brothers and Sisters in law: Clifford and Yvonne Rogers of Zachary, James Allen and Misty Rogers of Baptist; Sister and Brother in law: Brenda and Willis McDonald of the Woodhaven Community; Father in law and Mother in law: Curtis and Carolyn Varnado of Bush; Also numerous brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ashley Carl Rogers, Sr. and Billie Jean Smith Rogers.
Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church (18018 Lee Road, Franklinton) on Tuesday February 9th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 3:00 pm Wednesday with Rev. Leon Hickman and Rev. Bryan Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Tyson Cemetery.
