Rev. Karl D. Wood

June 18, 1928 - January 29, 2021

On January 29, 2021, Rev. Karl David Wood, Sr., age 92, went to be with the Lord at his eternal home. Rev. Wood was kind and strong always stood for God's way, not my will but thy will be done. He was God’s man. He was faithful and loyal to his Lord, serving all the surrounding area for 60 years spreading God’s ministry.

Rev. Karl Wood, Sr., was survived by a loving girlfriend: Millicent Canter; three devoted sons: Karl David Wood, Jr., (Debbie), Manuel Duane Wood (Mary), and Robert Daniel Wood; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law: Daphne; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three spouses: Lindell Sharp, Helen Fornea, and Cynthia Byrd; one son: Thomas Darryl Wood; his parents: Robert and Hazel Wood; two brothers: Robert “Bob” Wood and John Talmage Wood; and a daughter-in-law: Rose Mary Wood.

Services will be February 3, 2021 at Bush United Methodist Church in Bush, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Holmes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the United Methodist Children and Family Services or Our Lady of the Angel Hospital.
