Charles Marshall Richardson, Sr.

February 06, 1932 - January 21, 2021

Charles Marshall Richardson, Sr. of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away at East Jefferson General Hospital on January 21, 2021, from Covid complications. He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on February 6,1932, into a family with deep roots in Washington Parish.  His parents were the late Judge Jim Warren Richardson, Sr. and Henrietta Russell Richardson. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Sandra Pole Richardson.

Even though he moved to Metairie, Louisiana, he considered Bogalusa his home. He was always a visionary and an active member of the community.

Charles was a true gentleman who never met a stranger. The hearts of his wife, children, and grandchildren are broken, but they will forever remember him as the amazing man he was.

He was an outstanding role model for three generations of children, a number of whom share his name.

Surviving him are Son: Charles Marshall Richardson, Jr.; Daughters: Susan Tamzin Richardson Taylor (Toye) of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Pamela Anne Richardson Blundell (Gordon) of Mandeville, Louisiana, Tricia Lynn Richardson Jenkins of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Leslie Kathryn Richardson Borel of Madisonville, Louisiana and Charlotte, North Carolina, Diane Elizabeth Richardson Polit (Jean Michel) of Castelnau Le Lez, France, Laura Leigh Richardson Prudhomme of Cary, North Carolina; Grandchildren: Leigh Anne Taylor, Christopher Ryan Taylor, Steven Charles Taylor, William Marshall Taylor, Gordon Lane Blundell III, Eric Charles Blundell, Reid Marshall Blundell, Weston Wells Blundell, Scott Alan Jenkins, Stacey Lynn Jenkins Nichols, Jennifer Diane Jenkins Harman, Robert Charles Borel, Matthew Dwayne Borel, Marc Richardson Polit, Claire Yvette Polit, Luc Charles Polit, Timothy Mark Prudhomme, Rebecca Diane Keel, Anthony Jules Prudhomme, Everett Charles Prudhomme, Finnian Wayne Prudhomme; 18 Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Thomas Edward Richardson; Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Warren Richardson, Jr. and Richard Richardson, as well as one grandson, Michael Kyle Taylor.

Graveside rites will be held on Sunday January 24, 2021, at 2:00p.m. in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Pallbearers will be Christopher Taylor, Reid Blundell, Scott Jenkins, Robert Borel, Matthew Borel, and Timothy Prudhomme.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to Annunciation Catholic School in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
