Obituary

Jacqueline Greely St. Cyr

December 20, 1954 - November 28, 2020

Jacqueline Greely St. Cyr was born on December 20, 1954 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Mr. William Porter Greely, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Lee Thompson Greely. She was their first child.

After receiving her diploma from Wesley Ray High School, Jacqueline attended Job Corps in Houston, TX. Upon completion of school, she remained in Texas for a number of years and later moved to New York and worked there as a postal worker. She later resided and worked as a postal worker in New Orleans. She later moved to Slidell, LA where she met and married the love of her life, Albert St. Cyr., Jr. After retirement, she remained in Slidell for a little while longer them she and her husband moved to Beaumont Texas where she resided until death.

Jacqueline worshiped at Center Missionary Baptist Church at a young age, under the leadership of Pastor Linwood Bolton, Sr. and remained a faithful until she moved out of the area. While she resided in Slidell, she worshiped at Living the Word International Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Lawrence Weatherby. She was a very active member of the congregation and helped with various missionary groups and ministries. At the time of her death she was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church in Beaumont, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Rick White.

It was not unusual to see Jacqueline with a microphone in her hands because she loved to sing. From her high school until she became very ill she sang often. As a family, singing was often a part of program when we were together. Jacqueline was that soprano that we could depend on to hit the high notes. She was a woman of integrity and generosity. She participated in several ministries where she helped provide food and clothing for the homeless and others who were in need. Jacqueline had a gentle spirit and a good heart. She was always about sharing the word of God with those she came in contact with.

On November 16, 2008, Jacqueline married her sweetheart, Mr. Albert St. Cyr. Jr. She refers to it as one of her happiest moments. The couple has shared many trips and adventures because they both loved to travel, especially to family and church events. During her illness, Albert became her chauffeur, nurse, and lovingly cared for her, making sure all of her needs were met.

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Albert St. Cyr., Jr. (Beaumont, TX); her dear mother, Mary Lee Greely (Angie, LA); two sons, Medrick (Mecca) Greely (Houston, TX) and William “Eugene” (Nina) Frazier (Slidell, LA); one step-son, Albert St. Syr III; two sisters, Paula Greely (Richmond, VA) and Barbara (Jerome) Williamson, (Baton Rouge, LA); two brothers, Ronnell (Doris) Greely (Locust Grove, GA) and Kendric (Tara) Greely (Monroe, WI); two grandchildren, Julius Brewster and Shamraye McQueen  (Dallas, TX); one godson, Xzavier (Slidell, LA); a sister-in-law, Jackie Weary Greely; a church brother and sister, her dear friends Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd (Barbara) Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
