Former STPSO Deputy Terminated and Arrested

Justin Doles, age 32 and a former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputy, is facing a misdemeanor battery charge following an investigation into an incident that occurred at the St. Tammany Parish Jail earlier this week.

Doles was issued a summons Friday (December 4, 2020) morning for one count of Simple Battery (misdemeanor).  He was also found to be in violation of agency policy and procedure and was terminated. The arrest is the result of an ongoing criminal investigation following an incident which occurred Wednesday (December 2, 2020) involving an inmate at the St. Tammany Parish Jail.  Following the incident, the inmate involved was evaluated by trained medical personnel, who found no serious injury.

Doles began his employment with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office in April 2015.

Once the investigation is complete, the entire case file will be turned over to the FBI Civil Rights Division.

“I want to ensure the citizens of St. Tammany Parish that I will continue to hold my deputies fully accountable for their actions,” Sheriff Randy Smith said.
