Tropical Disturbances for Today

Tropical Storm Eta is likely to bring tropical-storm-force winds by late Wednesday along portions of the Florida Gulf Coast. Hurricane-force winds and life-threatening storm surge are then forecast for the same area. Eta should then spread northward across portions of West and North Florida through Friday.

A tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean Sea is expected to move slowly westward over the next several days, and a tropical depression is likely to form late this week or this weekend when the disturbance reaches the central or western Caribbean Sea. Formation chance through 48 hours is at 20% and formation chance through 5 days is at 80%.

Subtropical Storm Theta is moving east and is no threat to us.
