Johnny Lane Ramshur

March 12, 1932 - October 17, 2020

Johnny Lane Ramshur, age 88 and a resident of Pine, passed away Saturday morning October 17, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was retired after a 30 year career with American Linen Service. Johnny then served for 12 years as a deputy with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office. He loved the service he provided to his community and the opportunity to help others in need. Johnny was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War era. He was a longtime, active member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church that loved the Lord and his church family. He was also a member of the Pine Masonic Lodge #264. Johnny enjoyed farming, gardening and he also had an enthusiasm for sports, especially football and baseball. However, his greatest passion was the love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren.

Survived by: Wife of 63 years: Juanita Crain Ramshur; Daughters and Sons in law: Penny and Dwayne Crain, Lisa and Bruce Pittman, Sandra and Eric Williams; Son and Daughter in law: Ricky and Jauan Ramshur; Grandchildren and Spouses: Tori and Kyle Passman, Brandi and Cole Forbes, Ryan and Tiffany Ramshur, Whitney and Forrest Walker, Shalon and Adam Breland, Micah Pittman, Kyle Adams; Great-grandchildren: Torah Passman, Ayden Passman, Alyse Forbes, Annie Mae Walker, Leo Walker, Bryce Breland, Brix Breland; Sister: Lilly Bell Holifield; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death recently by grandson Travis Anthony Williams, an infant grandson Trevor, parents John Henry Ramshur and Lilly Smith Ramshur, brothers Henry Ramshur, Harvey Ramshur, Percy Lee Ramshur, step-sister Audrey Trest and other family members.

Visitation will be at Pine Missionary Baptist Church (27098 Hwy. 62, Franklinton, LA) on Tuesday October 20th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Bro. Adam Luper and Bro. Lynn Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 24.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to Pine Missionary Baptist Church at the address above.
