Freddie Jenkins Corkern

January 17, 1927 - October 22, 2020

Freddie Jenkins Corkern, age 93 and a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday afternoon October 22, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center. Alongside her family, she operated the J & B Supermarket in Franklinton for nearly 30 years. Freddie then worked for several years at Riverside Medical Center in respiratory therapy and later the cardiac EKG departments. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton and also an active member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Noble Queen Chapter No. 45 O.E.S. Freddie always enjoyed crocheting and working in her yard and flower beds.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Nancy Sue and Berman Graham of the Stoney Point Community, Carol and Terry Morgan of Franklinton; 4 Grandsons and Spouses: Patrick and Leslie Graham of the Barker’s Corner Community, John Graham, Christopher and Susan Morgan all of Denham Springs, Sandy Wayne and Shanya Morgan of Amite; 16 Great-grandchildren; 4 Great-great-grandchildren; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Olan J. “Buck” Corkern, great-granddaughter Destiny Graham, parents Fred Jenkins and Maude Green Jenkins, 4 sisters, a brother and other family members.

Graveside services will be held in Ellis Cemetery at 2:00 pm Sunday October 25th. Eastern Star Rites will be presented at 2:00 pm with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Joey Miller and Dr. Cody Warren officiating.
