Obituary

Alton Lane Bullock

March 16, 1945 - October 10, 2020

Alton Lane Bullock, age 75 and a lifelong resident of the Stoney Point Community, died very peacefully at his home on Saturday October 10, 2020 knowing he was to meet his Lord in the sky. Lane was a retired dairyman and had driven trucks for several different companies through the years. Each spring for many years, he planted, grew and harvested the famed Washington Parish/Stoney Point watermelons and sold them throughout our area, all around south Louisiana and even several other states. When Lane was driving, he and his two loyal dogs Poncho and Breez would ride around “patrolling” the community. He also enjoyed working his potted garden.

Survived by: Wife: Annette Graham; Brother and Sister in law: Earl and Myra Beth Bullock; Niece and Nephews and their spouses: Darlene and August Fugate, Steve and Tanya Bullock, Zac Bullock and Katelyn Jenkins; Also several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alton A. Bullock and Harriet Crowe Bullock.

Visitation will be at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church (37030 Hwy. 10, Franklinton) on Wednesday October 14th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Wednesday with Bro. Brent King and Bro. Everett Broome officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the Stoney Point Baptist Church Building Fund at (36466 Wilfred Bond Road, Franklinton, LA 70438).
