Tropical Disturbances Today

Disturbance 1. An area of low pressure located about midway between the west coast of Africa and the Leeward Islands is gradually becoming better defined.  Gradual development is expected a tropical depression is likely to form in the next day or so while it moves westward or west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic. Formation chance through 48 hours is at 90% and formation chance through 5 days is at 90%. 

Disturbance 2. A tropical wave just off the coast of western Africa is expected to develop into a tropical depression by the middle of the week while it moves generally westward over the far eastern tropical Atlantic. Formation chance through 48 hours is at 50% and formation through 5 days is at 80%. 

Disturbance 3. A tropical wave located over the central Caribbean Sea will be slow to develop while it moves westward across the central and western  Caribbean Sea.  Formation chance through 48 hours is at 10% and formation chance through 5 days is at 10%. 

Disturbance 4. A trough of low pressure located a couple of hundred miles southeast of Bermuda is only marginally conducive for development during the next several days while this system moves west-northwestward. Formation chance through 48 hours is at 10% and formation chance through 5 days is at 20%.
