Betty Cox Billiot

May 24, 1932 - September 20, 2020

Betty Cox Billiot, age 88 and a resident of the Sheridan Community, near Franklinton died Sunday September 20, 2020 at her home. She was a former longtime resident of Chalmette that moved with her husband to Washington Parish in 2006 following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Betty was a member of Pine First Baptist Church, who enjoyed going to the Happy Hearts meals and get-togethers. She loved listening to gospel music and had a special place in her heart for her pet dog “Boo”. Betty loved decorating for Christmas each year and making beautiful beaded tree ornaments. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and unique salt and pepper shakers. Betty loved her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Gary and Savina Billiot of River Ridge, Terry and Sue Billiot of Ponchatoula; Daughter and Son in law: Debra and Ronald Spera, Sr. of Richmond, TX; 7 Grandchildren and a Spouse: Norman Billiot, Jessica Billiot, Michael Billiot, Joseph Poirier, III, Christopher Poirier, Ronald Spera, Jr., Rebecca and Ryan Loesch; 9 Great-grandchildren: James Dixon, Erika Dixon, Kaleb Verrette, Christopher Poirier, Jr., Aidan Brackett-Spera, Chloe Spera, Damian Spera, Ryder Loesch, Reese Loesch; Brother in law and Sister in law: Warren and Lorraine Billiot of Slidell; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Sidney Joseph Billiot, parents John Orr Cox and Mattie Ethel Campbell Cox, sisters and brothers in law Beatrice and Hilton Wells, Imagene and Ed Michel, Dorothy and George Parr, an infant brother William Cox, father in law and mother in law Pierre “Pete” Billiot and Angelina Washley Billiot, several brothers in law and sisters in law.

Visitation will be at Pine First Baptist Church (27043 Hwy 62, Franklinton) Saturday September 26th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Saturday with Rev. David Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
