Obituary

Earnestine James Davis

March 12, 1956 - August 31, 2020

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7

Earnestine James Davis was born on March 12, 1956 to Lena Robinson Dunn and Earnest Brown. She was the eighth child. She transitioned from her heavenly home on Monday, August 31, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Angie, LA surrounded by her children and loved ones.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Alfonso Neslon, Sr., where she was a faithful member. She was a graduate of Varnado High School class of 1976.

Sister Davis was united in Holy matrimony to Lenwood Davis, III and to this union two children were born, Godnekia James and Kanitra Davis.

She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories her husband, Lenwood Davis, III of Angie, LA; sons, Willis (Brittany) James of New Orleans, LA, Lenwood Davis IV of Atlanta, GA; four daughters, Andrea (Shannon) Johnsons and Kanitra Davis both of North Little Rock, AR, Lenise (Robert) Parker of Tennesse, Godnekia James of Angie, LA; nine grandchildren, Jaivon, Miracle, Stacey, Austin, Jordan, Zy’Kereya, Za’Kiyah, Roben, and Robert; one sister, Pauline Torrence of Bogalusa, LA; one brother-in-law, Freddie Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Earnestine was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Robinson and Earnest Brown, her brothers, Delois Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Willie Robinson, Claude Robinson, and Roscoe Robinson; sisters, Geraldine Jefferson and Genevieve Foster.

A drive through viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at from 2:00PM until 6:00PM.  

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa, LA with Deacon Derrick Peters, eulogist and Rev. Aljuan Dausha Spikes, officiating. Interment in Robinson Cemetery, Angie, LA. Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa, LA are in charge of arrangements.
