Mark Jones

February 23, 1970 - September 12, 2020

Mark Jones, age 50 and a resident of Franklinton, died Saturday September 12, 2020 at University Hospital in New Orleans. Mark enjoyed hunting, shooting his guns and spending time in the outdoors. He loved watching football games and NASCAR races. Mark loved spending time with his family and young grandchildren, often around the dinner table, and he had a special place in his heart for his pet Old English Bulldog “Belle”.

Survived by: 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Christopher and Brandi Jones of Franklinton, Jesse Jones of Hazelhurst, MS; Daughter and Son in law: Brittany Jones and Terry Dickerson of Franklinton; 2 Granddaughters: Kaitlynn Jones and Heather Jones; Mother and Step-father: Ernestine Penton Lawson and Louis Lawson of Franklinton; 4 Brothers and Sisters in law: Greg and Brenda Jones, Tony and Robin Jones, Jeff and Christy Jones, Michael and Frances Jones all of Franklinton; 2 Sisters and Brothers in law: Danette and Kevin Jenkins of Franklinton, Lawanda and Todd Duenckel of Knoxville, TN; Former Wife: Ramona McKinzie; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John Robert Jones and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday September 16th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Edward Penton officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
