Donald Wayne Gerald

November 30, 1943 - August 24, 2020

Donald Wayne Gerald, age 76 and a resident of Thomas, died Monday afternoon August 24, 2020 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. He was a longtime pipeline worker for Anchor-Wate and later Submar, Inc in Houma. He was always a dedicated, hard-working man that thought a lot of his co-workers and friends that he served with over the years. Donald Wayne enjoyed quail hunting, deer hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. He loved working around the house and washing his cars. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and loved spending quality time with his family.

Survived by: Wife of 59 years: Joann Herring Gerald; 4 Children and Spouses: Joetta and Roy Thomas, Donna and John Morgan, Sammie and Chasity Gerald, Darrell McCain; 7 Grandchildren; 3 Great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters in law and a Brother in law: Brenda and Kendall Crain, Mary Crain; Also numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents Alton Gerald and Hazel Seals Gerald, brothers Shelton Gerald, Floyd Dale Gerald, Burdell Gerald and several brothers in law and sisters in law.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday August 28th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday with Rev. Keith Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the Alton Gerald Family Cemetery.
