Tropical Weather Disturbances Today

Disturbance 1. Hurricane Isaias is forecast to be near the Central Bahamas tonight, move near or over the Northwestern Bahamas and be near or east of the Florida peninsula on Saturday and Sunday. Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph. Some strengthening is possible today, and Isaias is expected to remain a hurricane for the next few days.

Disturbance 2. A small area of low pressure located a couple of hundred miles east-southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands have become less organized since yesterday.  The system is moving northward toward less favorable environmental conditions, and the chance of this system becoming a tropical depression is decreasing.

Disturbance 3. A westward-moving tropical wave is located about 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Some slow development of this system is possible while it turns northwestward over the western Atlantic by early next week.
