Sheriff Seal Asks Public's Help

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal asks the public’s help to identify two male burglars who struck
a business on West 10th Street the night of July 14 and again early in the morning of July 15.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 14, two males used a key to open the drink machine located outside the store, then left the machine unlocked. Unable to remove or open the coin container, the thieves stole several drinks. Surveillance video identified the getaway vehicle as a Ford F150 pickup truck with damage on the driver’s side front quarter panel.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. the following morning, additional persons returned to the store, opened the machine with a key, and stole additional soft drinks. It is suspected that the original thieves told others of the unlocked machine and they, in turn, went to the store to take more drinks.

Any person with information about this crime is asked to call Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Damon Mitchell at 985-839-344, extension 2008. Callers may remain anonymous.

“Help us identify these thieves,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “They are certain to strike again and the next victim may be you.”
