Inez Kennedy Crain
August 27, 1919 - July 3, 2020



Inez Kennedy Crain, age 100 and a longtime resident of Pine, died late Friday night July 3, 2020 at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. She was born on August 27, 1919 in the Stateline Community and was a member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church. Inez was also a member of the Pine Chapter #226 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a longtime beautician and, alongside her husband, built and operated the Pine Malt Stand for many years. Inez enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and friends. She loved shopping as often as she could and tending to her flower garden. Inez always loved spending quality time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Regina and Mark Pierce of Bogalusa; 3 Grandchildren and a Spouse: Christopher Delos Crain of Angie, Kandus Pierce of Bogalusa, Kasey and Jesse McQuigg of Franklinton; Great-grandchildren: Jasmyn Sinner, Elijah Crain, William Crain, Richie Bolgiano, Nicolyna Bolgiano, Landon McQuigg, Jordan McQuigg, Calissa McQuigg; Brother: F.D. Kennedy of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by infant sons Jack Crain, Jerry Crain, husband of 62 years Delos Sherd Crain, mother Hattie McKenzie Kennedy, father and step-mother Frank Kennedy and Rilla Ellis Kennedy, a young sister Dorothy Kennedy, sister Marie Pierce, brothers E. Lavon Kennedy, Austin Kennedy, Royce Kennedy, Sr., D.L. Kennedy.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday July 7th from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm Tuesday with Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.
