Olive Velma Burris
January 22, 1928 - July 27, 2020



Olive Velma Burris, age 92 and a resident of Franklinton died Monday July 27, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center. She was born January 22, 1928 and was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She sang in the youth choir and later as an adult taught Sunday School for many years. Olive was a longtime secretary for the Griffith Johnson Insurance Agency and a past member of the Winterset Club. Later in life, she loved working in her yard and gardening. She enjoyed spending quality time with her nieces and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survived by: 3 Nieces and Spouses: Monica and Barry Pierce of Covington, Rita and David Harned, Nina and Harold “Hal” Pavur all of Baton Rouge; Her caregiver and friend: Shown Paul; Great-nieces, great-nephews and their spouses: Laura and Tony Werner, Rachel and Justin Gaylor, Michelle Pavur, John and Alissa Pierce, Chris Pavur, Clay Harned; Great-great-nieces: Olivia Pierce, Caroline Werner, Catherine Werner; Great-great nephews: Anthony Werner, Owen Werner, Nolan Gaylor

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh Burris and Velma Bateman Burris, brother and sister in law Harvey and Aylene Burris and other family members.

Olive will be laid to rest, alongside her family, in Ellis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to Centenary Methodist Church. (1015 Cleveland Street, Franklinton, LA 70438)
