George Dewey Williams, Jr. passed away in Bogalusa, LA on June 23, 2020 at the age of 89. He was born on June 28, 1930 in Bogalusa, LA.

He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine “Gerry” Williams; his children, Renee Williams McGee of Bogalusa, LA, Mona Williams Welborn (Buddy) of Denham Springs, LA, George Todd Williams (Therisa Nielsen) of Bogalusa, LA; his grandchildren, Melissa McGee Coy (Nathan) of Haughton, LA, Lindsey McGee of Austin, TX, Wade Welborn (Jennifer) of Denham Springs, LA, Meghan Welborn Achord (Todd) of Denham Springs, LA, Dane Welborn (Kory) of Walker, LA, Matthew Todd Williams (Nori L.) of Bogalusa, LA; his great grandchildren, Sean Russell of Bentonville, AR, Aubrey Coy of Haughton, LA, Grayson Coy of Haughton, LA, Mia Grace Welborn of Denham Springs, LA, Brody Todd Achord of Denham Springs, LA, Aubrie Elsie Welborn of Walker, LA, and Andie Kate Welborn of Walker, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey Williams, Sr. and Thelma Lossett Williams; brother, Walter Ernest “W.E.” Williams; his three sisters, Mary B. Williams Pounds, Irma Lee Williams Dantin, and Charlene Williams Ray; and a son-in-law, Randy McGee.

Services celebrating his life will be held at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA on Friday, June 26, 2020. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Keith Sheridan will officiate. Interment to follow in the Lee’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Williams’ arrangements have been entrusted to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory in Bogalusa, LA.
