Richard Caleb Steadman
August 7, 1957 - June 14, 2020



Richard Caleb Steadman, age 62 and a resident of the Crain’s Creek Community, died Sunday night June 14, 2020 at his home. He was retired as a Lieutenant after a career at Rayburn Correctional Center. Richard loved tinkering on lawn mowers and other small engines. He was a buyer, seller, and trader and loved to make the best deal he could for all different types of things. He had a special place in his heart for his pet cats Bear and Max.

Survived by: Wife: Tonya Knight Steadman of Crain’s Creek; Son and Daughter in law: Derick and Kristie Steadman of Albany; 3 Grandchildren: Mason Steadman, Maddox Steadman, MaKenzie Steadman; 6 Siblings and their Spouses: Sylvia Steadman Gregorchik and Gene Gregorchik, Marie Steadman Ragan and Timmy Ragan, Aurora Steadman Jones and Gregory “Fuzzie” Jones, Glenn Peter Steadman, Carla Steadman VanVrancken and Charlie VanVrancken, Christopher Thomas Steadman and Anita Steadman; Special Nephew and Niece: Blake and Crystal Knight and their Son Ethan Knight; Also numerous other nephews and nieces

He was preceded in death by his son Jason Kennon Steadman, parents Ernest Henry Steadman and Aurora Beals Steadman, brothers Ernest Richard Steadman, Donald Phillip Steadman, Michael James Steadman and his grandparents.

A graveside funeral service will be held in the Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 pm Thursday June 18th with Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating.
