Corrections Sgt. Barry Cooper is WPSO Officer of the Quarter

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal recognized Corrections Sgt. Barry Cooper for his selection as
Officer of the Quarter, April – June 2020. Sgt. Cooper, a recent graduate of the Louisiana Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission Academy, was the unanimous selection of his peers.

A resident of Mt. Hermon, Sgt. Cooper manages internal investigations for the jail and has been instrumental in prohibiting the introduction of contraband. Chief of Corrections Jim Miller describes Sgt. Cooper as “a go to officer who is always on the lookout for criminal activity inside the jail.”

“We are blessed to have Sgt. Barry Cooper as a member of our staff,” said Sheriff Randy Seal. “He and his fellow jail officers have perhaps the hardest job in the parish and they perform their duties well. It is an honor to serve as their Sheriff.”
