Nellie Luper Hunt
July 10, 1932 - May 18, 2020



Nellie Luper Hunt, age 87 and a resident of Franklinton, died Monday May 18, 2020 at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. She was a faithful, devoted member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, who loved her Lord and church family. Nellie enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and traveling to visit her family in Tennessee. She loved flowers and was an outstanding cook. Nellie was a caring person that served as a foster parent to well over 30 children in need through the years. She was always a loving mother and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by: 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Rainey and Martha Hunt of Auburntown, TN, Shane Hunt of Lebanon, TN, Eld. Lerand and Denise Hunt of Franklinton; 2 Step-children and their families: Carrol Beinhauer and Lea Hunt; Grandchildren and Spouses: Blake and Dodie Hunt, Brandon Hunt, Michelle Hunt, Becky and Tony Mount, Chris and Blake Hunt, Shelly and Connor Sullivan, LeAnn and Jimmy Carter, Chad Hunt; Great-grandchildren: Mitchell, Marilyn and Alec Hunt, Makenzie, Mason, and Ayden Hunt, Rainey and Hayden Hunt, Tanner Mount, Landon Hunt, Jacob Campsey and Cooper Hunt, Levi, Audrey, and Ryleigh Carter, Colin, Caleb and Chloe Hunt and their mother Gwen; An expected great-grandchild Aria Sullivan; 5 Sisters and Brothers in law: Elaine Primes, Pauline and Robert Branch, Betty and Billy Amacker, Sybil Seal all of Franklinton, Sally Gainey of Bogalusa; 2 Brothers and a Sister in law: Bobby and Delores Luper, Jimmy Luper all of Franklinton; Special Foster Son: Todd Creel of Denham Springs; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends

She was preceded in death by her husbands Leo Hunt and Jim Sandifer, parents Lucious Luper and Inez Reviere Luper, 4 brothers Johnny Ray Luper, Willie Jay Luper, Larry Luper, Leroy Luper and several sisters in law and brothers in law.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday May 21st from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
