Willie J. O'Bryant
February 25, 1939 - May 27, 2020


Willie J. O'Bryant, age 81 and a resident of Franklinton, died Wednesday afternoon May 27, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center. He worked at Rutter Rex for over 30 years and later was well known for his work as a chef at Stewart’s Fish House for many years. Willie J. always had the Western Style and often wore his cowboy hat. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and working in his yard. He loved cooking for his family and playfully dancing with the girls in the kitchen. He was always a loving husband, brother and uncle and a good friend to all those that knew him.

Survived by: Sister and Brother in law: Janice O’Bryant Jones and Elvin Jones, Jr. of Franklinton; Sisters in law and a Brother in law: Joann Corkern Mixon of Amite, J.D. and Katherine Broadway, Shirley Spears O’Bryant all of Franklinton; Special Niece: Misti Jones and Joseph Taylor of Franklinton; Nieces and Nephews: Shanna Powe, Kevin Jones, Tyler Jones, Crystal and Donnie Roberson, Charmaine and Jason Rupe, Sandra and Shaun Sanders, Walter Broadway; Also numerous other family members

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years Dorothy Jane Broadway O’Bryant, parents Jessie J. O’Bryant and Mary Smith O’Bryant, brothers Dewitt “D.J.” O’Bryant, Harold O’Bryant, sister Nora Mae Schilling, father in law and mother in law Chance Denman Broadway and Sarah Myrtis Seals Broadway, sister in law Martha C. “Mottsie” Broadway and brother in law Robert Mixon.

Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
