Billy Ray Jenkins
November 14, 1945 - March 26, 2020



Billy Ray Jenkins passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bogalusa, LA on November 14, 1945.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jean Jenkins of Bogalusa, LA; his son, Steven (Michelle) Jenkins of Brandon, MS; daughter, Melinda (Gary) Kyzar of Holden, LA; his two sisters, Verda Pierce of Bogalusa, LA and Marie (J.D.) Freeman of Enon, LA and sister-in-law, Kay Jenkins of Bogalusa, LA; four grandchildren, Christal (Jeremy) Carter, Morgan (Cody) Brown, Brandon Jenkins, and Hope Jenkins; two step-grandchildren, Gary (Melinda) Kyzar, Jr. and Garon (David) Jenner; four great grandchildren, Chase Carter, Ashlyn Jenner, Ever Kyzar, Kit Kyzar; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Barbara and James Taylor of Rio, LA, Ricky Dale (LaSharon) Crain of Alabama, Jimmy and Tina Crain of Florida, and Ricky and Terry Sykes of Seattle, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Neva Jenkins; brother, Kenneth Wilson Jenkins, and his fathers-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene Sykes and Christine and Red Jones. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Billy was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, served as an Auxiliary Officer with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, and retired from TXI after 25 years of service. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, playing music and loved to fish and hunt.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Central Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Angie, Louisiana.
