COVID-19 Update (Louisiana) March 23, 2020 at Noon

Since the last update of March 22, 2020 at 9:30 am, the number of reported Louisiana cases has risen from 837 to 1172 at noon today (March 23, 2020). The number of reported deaths increased from 20 to 34. One of the 34 is identified as a 62-year-old from Washington Parish. Click here for the ages of the deceased and their parish of residence.

In addition to Lambeth House, an assisted living facility in New Orleans, where LDH has identified 42 COVID-19 patients and reported 9 deaths, the Department has newly identified a second cluster at Chateau D’Ville in Donaldsonville, with 5 cases all identified today. LDH is working with this facility to help minimize the spread of this infection, and has requested additional assistance from the CDC.
