Ruth Walker Seals
March 06, 1938 - February 16, 2020



Ruth Walker Seals was carried home by the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the age of 81 after a battle with cancer and kidney disease. She was born in Bogalusa, LA on March 6, 1938 to Thelma and Travis Walker and she was a lifelong resident of Varnado.

Ruth started work at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center right out of high school in 1956 and retired in 2005 as the bookkeeper and payroll supervisor. She loved spending time with her family and friends, her dog “Puppy” and cat “Midnight”. Ruth was always up for an adventure. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Varnado United Methodist Church where she and her husband, Archie were the first couple to be married in the new church in 1956.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Williams (George) and Archie Roy Seals, II (Diane); 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shellie and Beth Seals, Charles Seals, Lavon Seals; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Archie Roy Seals, brother and sister-in-law, Fred (Fritzi) Walker, sister and brother-in-law, Claudette and Paul Fischer, sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Wilson Williams, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Betty Lang and Laura Seals.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the services celebrating her life on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Varnado United Methodist Church in Varnado, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until service time at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kathy Pfleider will officiate. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery in Varnado, LA.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Williams and Dustin Williams, great-grandson, Laine Williams, grandson-in-law, T.W. Pounds, and nephews, Jimmy Seals and Keith Williams.
