Claire Jean Kennedy
July 26, 1934 - February 14, 2020
Claire Jean Kennedy, age 85 and a resident of Pine, died Friday afternoon February 14, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center. She was a 1952 of Bogalusa High School before a long career as an executive secretary in Baton Rouge and later the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans. Upon retiring, Claire returned to Washington Parish. She enjoyed raising her small beef cattle herd and taking care of pet cats and pet dog Samantha. Claire enjoyed riding the country roads near her home each day.
Survived by: 4 Sisters and a Brother in law: Janie Kennedy Gaddy of Pine, Patsy Kennedy Copley and Patrick Copley of Phoenix, AZ, Bett Kennedy Smith of Pine, Jimmie Morris of Houston, TX; Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; Lifelong Friend: Eva Fairchild
She was preceded in death by her mother Masle Thomas Kennedy Miller, father James D. Kennedy, sister Geneva Kennedy Hunt, brothers in law Danny L. Gaddy, Sr., John L. Morris.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday February 17th from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm Monday with Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy Family Cemetery.
