Obituary

David G. Crowe
June 8, 1943 - February 19, 2020



David Gaylon Crowe, age 76 and a resident of Thomas, died Wednesday morning February 19, 2020 at his home. He was a graduate of Franklinton High School before serving in the Merchant Marines. David was a longtime resident of Covington where he ran a delivery route for Evans Vending for 35 years. He then worked in the maintenance department of Abita Country Club for several years as the mechanic on golf carts, lawnmowers and any other thing that needed fixing. David enjoyed gardening and playing golf in his spare time. Late in life, he especially enjoyed spending time outside riding his lawnmower around his home.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Troy and Wendy Crowe of Thomas; 4 Granddaughters and a Spouse: Brittany Crowe of Mississippi, Kristen and Tyler Theard of Ponchatoula, Leslie Crowe, Mallory Crowe both of Thomas; 4 Great-grandchildren: Briley Crowe, Dean Mitchell, Zaythyn Mitchell, Amelia Theard; 2 Brothers and a Sister in law: Jerry Crowe of Amite, Ronnie and Carol Crowe of Roseland; Sister: Linda Dykes of Roseland; Sister in law: Suzanne Crowe of Boliver; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Peterson Crowe, parents Clyde Levy Crowe and Verlie Walker Crowe, a brother Joe Crowe and brother in law Sherwood Dykes.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Saturday February 22nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Eld. Richard Magee and Eld. Glynn Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Bogue Falaya Cemetery near Folsom.
