Slidell Police 2019 Crime Statistics – Overall Crime Down 3.4%

Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal has released the Slidell Police Department’s 2019 Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), and has also included the crimes statistics from the past nine years. “We are proud to report that overall crime is down 3.4%,” says Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal. “The downward trend is even more impressive when you consider the fact our community continues to grow.

While violent crime is slightly down, property crime, such as thefts and auto thefts, are up. Vehicle break-ins are categorized under “Theft”, which has contributed significantly to the rise in numbers. “We can’t stress enough for people to lock their car doors and hide all valuables out of sight,” says Chief Fandal.

Our officers and residents should be extremely proud of the work they have done. We will continue to move forward and work diligently to maintain the quality of life our citizens have come to expect and deserve,” says Chief Fandal.
