Lily Belle Fletcher Matheny passed away at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa, LA on December 24, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia on March 23, 1925.
Mrs. Lily was a long time resident of Bogalusa, LA where she was a faithful member of ESM Methodist Church and longtime member of United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Alders Gate Sunday school class.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Mullings of Bogalusa, LA; her granddaughter, Allison M. (Jay) Brignac of St. Amant, LA; and her great granddaughter, Chloe Brignac.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, William R. “Bill” Matheny; her son-in-law, Charles Mullings, Jr.; and her eight siblings.
Services celebrating her life will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday December 28, 2019 until funeral service begins at 10:00 a.m. Rev. James Moore will officiate. Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
