Obituary

Cleo Carter Guy
March 12, 1941 - December 22, 2019



Cleo Carter Guy, age 78, was a lifelong resident of Mt. Hermon, La, and a beloved member of Mt Hermon United Methodist Church. A devoted homemaker; she was a faithful wife, and wonderful mother. Over the years, she enjoyed a multitude of hobbies which included crocheting, reading mysteries, gardening, shopping, and cooking. She had a passion for clothes, purses, and costume jewelry. Throughout her years, she was a member and served as President of the Mt Hermon Garden Club and the Country Bumpkins Homemaker Club. She was a gifted quilter and seamstress, as well as an entertaining story teller. She never lost her sense of humor. She loved spending time with her little dog, Brue. She will, forever be remembered, for her strength, courage, and homemade biscuits. Always a lady; she was a lady until the end.

Our beautiful matriarch is survived by six children and spouses: Elizabeth (Liz) and James King, Melvin and Tammy Guy, Larry Guy, Brett Guy, Justin Guy, Jesse and Morgan Guy; She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, were her husband of fifty years Wayne Guy, parents Modez Carter and Azelrena Morris Carter and a beloved cousin Bill Hyde.

Pallbearers are her grandsons: Austyn (Augie) King, Dean King, Michael Guy, Brad Guy, Stone Guy, and Jarod Guy.

Honorary pallbearers are great grandsons Wyatt Hickman, Layton Walters, Gabriel Guy.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday December 26th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Friday with Rev. Percy Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery near her home. A reception will follow the services at Mt. Hermon Methodist Church.
