Drug Arrest Made in Parish Jail Parking Lot in Amite

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest last week of James Brown (61) of Amite.
Brown was taken into custody in the parking lot of the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

While Lt. Mike Moore and TPSO K9 Ace were patrolling the parking lot at the parish jail, K9 Ace alerted on a vehicle owned by Brown. As a result of a free air sweep, deputies located and seized 6.5 grams of methamphetamine, numerous hydrocodone tablets, and a scale.

Brown was subsequently charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute CDSII, the introduction of contraband into a penal institute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
