Betty Hunt Erwin
June 19, 1935 - November 12, 2019



Betty Hunt Erwin, age 84 and a resident of Franklinton, died Tuesday evening November 12, 2019 at her home. She was a member of Grace Apostolic Church in Pine and a former nurse’s aide at the Louisiana War Veteran’s Home, the East Louisiana State Hospital and other locations through the years. Betty loved to do puzzles and was a collector of many small items like dolls, angels and crosses. She loved Christmas time and the holidays each year. Betty enjoyed going to thrift stores and garage sales. She had a special place in her heart for her pet dog Choco and she loved spending time with her large family.

Survived by: Husband: John Erwin of Franklinton; 4 Daughters and Spouses: Barbara Disher of Tulsa, OK, Sherry and Arnold Jenkins of the Lee Road Community, Gloria and Arlie O’Bryant, Jr. of Thomas, Peggy and Ricky Magee of the Hackley Community; Son and Daughter in law: Rickey and Michelle Creel of Slidell; 22 Grandchildren; 57 Great-grandchildren; 7 Great-great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Juanita and Tommy Daniels of Watson, Linda Hunt Wilkinson of Franklinton; 2 Sisters in law: Ann Hunt of Picayune, Pat Hunt of Isabel; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by a son Roger Creel, daughter Judy Bounds, grandsons James O’Bryant, Koby Sumrall, parents Therman Hunt and Myrtle Leonard Hunt, 4 brothers Lillard Hunt, Charles Ray Hunt, Leroy Hunt, Melvin Hunt.

Visitation will be at Mount Zion Pentecostal Church Friday November 15th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Bryan Dunn and Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Sheridan Cemetery.
