Abraham Announces $125,000 for Adapt Inc. of Bogalusa

Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, announced today that Adapt Inc. of Bogalusa will

receive a federal grant in the amount of $125,000 from the Drug-Free Communities Support Program.

“Adapt provides an array of services to the Washington Parish community with the goal of identifying and preventing substance abuse and sexual violence,” Abraham said. "As a physician, I'm glad to see these federal dollars coming home to Louisiana where they can help to improve our communities."

Rusty Fornea, Executive Director of Adapt Inc of Bogalusa, said the funds will be used primarily for prevention and education, targeting nine to twenty year olds, and addressing underage drinking, marijuana use, and opiod use.  Adapt provides services throughout Washington Parish, primarily through the schools,  and in support of the Youth Coalition which consists of sixty-seven members currently.
