Suspect Sought in Fatal Hammond Shooting

Around 2:30 pm yesterday (Monday, September 23, 2019), Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office
deputies responded to a shooting incident on Dillon Lane in Hammond and discovered two individuals had been shot and transported to North Oaks Hospital by private vehicles.

J. T. Douglas (29) was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Travis Walker (37) was admitted in the hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound. His injuries are listed as severe but he is expected to survive. 

Late last night, detectives identified Cornelius Beauchamp (51) of Klein Rd. as the alleged shooting suspect. Beauchamp is being accused of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.  Warrants have been obtained and issued for his arrest.
