Amanda Smith was born March 11, 1951 to Anderson and Rosie Lee Brown. She departed this life on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the age of 68.
Amanda spent 41 years living in Rochester, New York. She recently returned to the Mitchell City community to be among family and friends.
Amanda was the life of Jake’s heart… to see them together was amazing; they were made for each other. The way their thoughts and sentences bounce off each other was crazy, meaning they thought alike. She be missed by Jayda and Alexis Wilson who considered her as a second mother, and we can’t leave out little Nehemiah, the light of her eyes, her grandson that she doted on. Mae (Rose), Glenda, and Gerald Wilson who were like her sisters and brother and the rest of the nieces and nephews who all saw her as their aunt. She loved them all.
She also leaves to cherish her memory, her long-time special friend/partner, Jakie Wilson; three sisters, Clementine Ratliff of Los Angeles, CA, Cleta Lee of Rochester, New York and Nadine Foster of Atlanta, GA and one brother, Calvin Brown of Bogalusa, LA.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin C. Brown and Anderson Brown, Jr., and three sisters, Marcelle Smith, Brenda Bronssard and Marjorie Jefferson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
