Shoplifter Spits in Slidell Police Officer's Face

Tuesday afternoon (August 20, 2019), Slidell Police responded to a report of a shoplifting at the

Walmart Neighborhood Market, 637 Robert Boulevard, in Slidell. The assets protection employee observed 47-year-old, Paula Faciane, push out over $350 worth of groceries from the store.

When Slidell Police officers arrived, Faciane was attempting to flee to her vehicle, but was quickly apprehended. Faciane began to resist officers, then after being handcuffed, turned around and spit in an officer's face. The officer was treated at a local hospital for being exposed to the bodily fluids.

Faciane, who had been caught shoplifting three times in the past year, was charged with Theft (3rd offense - Felony), Resisting an Officer by Violence, Resisting an Officer by False Information, and Battery on a Police Officer.
