Gail Verberne McClendon, age 74 and a resident of the Sunny Hill Community, died at 4:48 PM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington.
She enjoyed cheering on her beloved Saints and LSU Tigers as well as spending time with family and friends.
Survived by: Her Husband and Best Friend of 54 years: John P. McClendon of the Sunny Hill Community; 2 Daughters and a spouse: Donna Schilling of Mt. Hermon, Stacey and Tripp Branch of Sunny Hill; 6 Grandchildren and their spouses/partners: Ryan Schilling, Austin and Chelsey Schilling, Brance Bridges and Kristi Provenzano, Bryce Smart and Angel Spencer, Bailey Moore and Blayze Roberts, Precious and Timothy Cranfield; 9 Great grandchildren: Alexis Schilling, Noah Schilling, Cade Blades, Nicholas Schilling, Colton River Schilling, McKayla Bridges, LeiaLynn Smart, Lena Smart, Zander Cranfield; Special cousins: Angel Guerra Hall, Casey Verberne Bond
Preceded in death by her parents E.C. “ Wordie” Verberne and Edna “ Dolly” Lawrence Verberne, son in law Jeff Schilling, great grandchildren Brody Dean Schilling and Natalynn Kate Schilling, father in law and mother in law Bolden Burch and Grace Moak McClendon Burch.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 6 PM until 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 PM with Rev. Randall Garcia officiating. Special longtime friend Stephen Rhodus will be singing at the service. At Gail's wishes, she will then be cremated.
