Wilda Jean Bateman, age 61 and a resident of Franklinton, died late Sunday night July 21, 2019 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was born August 29, 1957 in Franklinton. “Woody”, as she was known to her family, enjoyed riding around town and visiting yard sales. She always loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Anita and Terry Nastasi of Covington; Son: Ezra Bateman of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Alexis Nastasi, Evan Nastasi, Avery Bernard; Siblings: Susan Martinez of Franklinton, Shane Erickson of Covington, Canney Morris of Albany, Juanita Brock of Mesa, AZ, Denmon Bateman of Lincoln, AL; Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her mother Wanda James Erickson, father Louis Denmon Bateman, brother Elvin D. James, Sr., sister Frankie Hamilton, grandparents Ezra and Ophelia James, Dan and Carrie Bateman.
Visitation will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Tuesday July 23rd from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 12:00 pm Wednesday with Kenneth Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
