Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash Near Pearl River

On Thursday May 23, 2019 at approximately 2:45 PM, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L
responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on LA 1090 (Military Rd.) at Forest Ridge Drive in St. Tammany Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 70 year-old Daniel James Wehr of Slidell.

Troopers determined that as Wehr was riding a 2019 Slingshot Motorcycle [3-wheeled, open-air roadster] northbound on LA 1090 approaching Forrest Ridge Drive, his vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Wehr was wearing a DOT approved helmet; however, he was not wearing the equipped seat-belt. Wehr sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced deceased on scene by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office.
