Josephine Dykes Brumfield
October 1, 1933 - February 14, 2019



Josephine Dykes Brumfield, age 85 and a resident of Hammond, died Thursday February 14, 2019 at North Oaks Medical Center. She was a native a Washington Parish and a former resident of Springfield for over 20 years. Josephine was a member of the Jesus’ Place Church and loved her church family. She always enjoyed listening to her favorite gospel music. She also loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Russell W. and Silvia Brumfield of Miami, FL, Milton and Tina Brumfield of Springfield; 7 Grandchildren and Spouses: Randall and Christina Brumfield, Richard and Stacia Brumfield, Amelia and Henry Hudson, Heather Brumfield and Jody Lecompte, Kayla and Dillon Paradelas, Hannah Brumfield, Vanessa Brumfield and Felipe Londonno; 13 Great-grandchildren; Sister in law: Gloria Thomas; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Collie Warren Brumfield, a son John W. Brumfield, parents Tommy Lee Dykes and Ada Husser Dykes, sisters Tommilee and Kay and a brother Tony.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday February 16th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Michael Dephillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
